Cash Game Host — Product Guide
Everything you need to run your home poker cash games with Cash Game Host: create games, add players, track money, and settle up — no spreadsheets, no manual math.
What Cash Game Host Does
Cash Game Host is built for you, the host. You sign in, create games, and manage everything from one place:
- Track money in and out — buy-ins, cash-outs, re-buys, and shared expenses (pizza, drinks, etc.)
- Calculate settlement — when you close a game, the app tells you exactly who owes whom
- Keep player stats — lifetime results, profit, ROI, and game history for every player
All games and players are tied to your account. Only you (the host) can edit, close, reopen a game, and manage the clearinghouse.
Getting Started
The Core Flow
1. Create or Open a Game
- New game: Tap Start Game on the Games page.
- Existing game: Tap any game card to open it.
- Game settings: Edit name, location, and stakes from the game screen. Stakes are optional and for your reference.
2. Add Players
- Use Add Player on the game screen, or go to the Add Players page for bulk actions.
- Bulk add from last game — add everyone from your previous game in one tap.
- Create new players — type a name, they're saved for future games.
Pro Tip
3. Record Transactions
While the game is open, record:
| Type | When to Use |
|---|---|
| Buy-in | Player adds money to their stack (initial or re-buy). Single or bulk. |
| Cash-out | Player leaves and cashes out their chips. Single or bulk. |
| Expense | Someone pays for something shared (pizza, drinks, tips). Choose who paid and how to split it. |
| Adjustment | Correct a mistake (wrong amount entered). Directly changes a player's balance. |
4. Close the Game & Settle Up
- Close the game — the app runs a bank balance check (total in = total out) before closing.
- View settlement — a list of transfers (e.g. “Alice owes Bob $20”). Copy it and send to your group.
- Use the clearinghouse — mark collections and payouts as they come in so you know who has settled.
Pro Tip
Expense Splitting
When you add an expense, choose how to split it:
| Mode | How It Works |
|---|---|
| Settle time — all | Split among everyone in the game at settlement time. Good default. |
| Snapshot at expense | Split among everyone present when the expense was recorded. |
| All except payer | Everyone except the person who paid shares the cost. |
| Custom | You choose exactly which players share the cost. |
The payer is always reimbursed. Expenses are factored into settlement automatically.
Clearinghouse Mode
Instead of players paying each other directly, the host acts as the intermediary:
- Losers send their balance to the host
- The host pays all winners
- Track status — mark each collection and payout as complete
This reduces the number of transactions and puts one person (you) in control.
Payment Methods
Store payment handles for each player:
Venmo
@username
Cash App
$cashtag
PayPal
email or @username
Zelle
phone or email
You can scan QR codes from a player's Venmo or Cash App profile to capture their handle, and generate payment links for quick settlement.
Lifetime Player Stats
The Stats page shows lifetime results across all your games, for every player:
- Net profit
- ROI
- Games played
- Biggest win & biggest loss
- Time played
- Average net per game
Tap any player to see their full game-by-game history.
Tips for New Hosts
- Start with a test game — create a game, add 2–3 players, record a few buy-ins and a cash-out, then close and look at the settlement.
- Use “Bulk add from last game” — saves time when you host the same group weekly.
- Use the clearinghouse — after closing, mark transfers as collected/paid so nothing slips.
- Copy the settlement — send it to your group chat so everyone knows who pays whom.
- Reopen if needed — forgot a buy-in or expense? Reopen, fix it, close again.
